・蹴上インクラインの桜（2019/4/6）
蹴上にあるインクラインは、南禅寺近く、明治から昭和にかけて琵琶湖疏水を行き交う船を運搬するために使用された全長約580mの傾斜鉄道（インクライン）の跡地です。
インクラインでは船を台車に乗せ、レール上を引っ張っていたそうです。
レールの両脇に100本近いソメイヨシノなどの桜が植えられていますので、春の満開時には桜のトンネルのようになります。
レールと桜の組み合わせが美しいです。
この鉄道跡地をゆっくりと散策できます。
こちらは朝早くから訪れることができるのもうれしいですね。
ただ、最近人気となっているので朝早くから人が多いです（この撮影時は7時頃でしたが既に人いっぱいでした）。
個人的には桜を見るなら銀閣寺近くからスタートして哲学の道を通り、この蹴上インクラインまで歩くコースが一番おすすめです。
さらに歩けば近くの平安神宮では枝垂れ桜が見られますので、また違った雰囲気が楽しめます。
最寄り駅は京都市営地下鉄東西線の「蹴上」になります。
市バスで京都駅から訪れる場合は、岡崎公園 ・美術館・平安神宮前（5,110,100系統）、または南禅寺・永観堂道（5系統）から歩きます（それぞれ約1.3km, 約1.1km）。
車の場合「ウェスティン都ホテル京都」の駐車場が近くて便利です。

Keage Incline is the site of the about 580m-long sloping railway(Incline) used to carry boats that cross the Lake Biwa Canal near Nanzenji temple.
In the Incline, the ship was placed on a trolley and pulled on the rail.
About 100 cherry trees are planted on both sides of the rail.
It looks like a cherry blossom tunnel in spring.
The combination of rails and cherry blossoms is beautiful.
It's nice to be able to visit here early in the morning!
The best way to see the cherry blossoms is to start from Ginkakuji Temple and walk through the Philosopher's Walk to the Keage Incline.
